A Personal Thank You For Salon Sales Goals Met

Hair Trends are Hot at the 2016 Met Gala

Hair is always on center stage! Though there are always lots of amazing gowns and sparkle, the hot hair trends at the Met Gala always make it worth watching. The Met Gala is a posh, annual black-tie extravaganza held the first Monday in May to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.

The Met Gala is one of my favorite events of the year because it prompts people to step outside the comfort zone and push their own fashion limits. The costumes and hair we get to see are strictly sensational. I’m using “the royal we” in this instance; only 600 tickets — at $30,000 each are available, and most go to those with very deep pockets for the Metropolitan Museum of Art, for Vogue and for the fashion world in general. Nonetheless, it’s the best reality television available!

The hair this year showed a variety of sleek and tight styles. Olivia Wilde probably best epitomized that on trend style.

Both a baby bump and a “bump” of color looked fabulous on the beautiful Kerry Washington. I loved that she added a deep red violet to accent her stunning black gown.

Katy Perry was pure drama as she transformed her look from good girl to wild show stopper in her Prada gown accented with a classic Beehive hairstyle that gave her look a modern spin.

Beyonce never disappoints and this year was no exception. Her flesh tone gown accentuated her amazing body. Her beautifully finished, sleek hairstyle was a perfect match for her stunning look.

Overall, it was a stunning event and some of the most beautiful “people watching” ever. I’d love to hear your thoughts! Did you have a favorite hair look?
